Five options, each a different layout. Pick one number and use that option's banner, headline and Featured tile together. Every option points people to the paper you've already written, Monetising Derivative Hedges, with one keyword: “HEDGE”. Each banner is also shown at phone size so you can see it reads.

Monetising Derivative Hedges: A Practical Framework. Why most institutional hedges never pay, even when they are right. cover

Monetising Derivative Hedges: A Practical Framework. Why most institutional hedges never pay, even when they are right.

Your 21-page practitioner paper (version 3, January 2026). Inside: five cross-asset case studies (FX, rates, credit, equity, collateral), the four pathologies that keep it happening (career risk asymmetry, optionality worship, measurement mismatch, fake sophistication), eight audit questions for the investment committee, and a practical monetisation doctrine: trigger thresholds, partial monetisation bands, re-hedging logic and an authority matrix.

The one-shot DM

Your message

Hi [FIRST NAME] - I'm just about to head out the door [to ACTIVITY] and thought I'd send this through quickly before I forget.

I saw you [liked / commented on] my post about [TOPIC] (or: thanks for connecting!), so I wanted to properly introduce myself.

I'm Mike. I spent 30+ years trading and structuring derivatives in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney, and now I run Para Bellum Advisors. We give institutions and corporate treasuries independent derivatives advice, with no product to sell.

I had a look at your profile, and you reminded me of [CLIENT, unnamed] I've been working with.

[RESULT: e.g. they were rolling 3-month forwards against a 10-year exposure. Each roll looked cheap. Nobody had run the numbers across all 40 of them.]

The reason it works is that I've sat on the other side of the trade. At Singlife I built the derivatives function from scratch and cut FX execution costs by USD 20M a year, through electronic execution and counterparty pricing discipline.

It's taken three decades, and a lot of hedges that looked right on the term sheet, to really dial this in.

And right now, we've got an offer where [THE OFFER].

As you can imagine, the "zero-cost hedge" pitch isn't a big fan of us haha. But I don't mind, the more treasurers who know what they're actually paying, the better.

Anyway, I really have to run.

Happy to walk you through how it works? I've got [TIME 1] or [TIME 2] free tomorrow?

If not, no biggie at all. Happy to just send you my practitioner paper, Monetising Derivative Hedges, instead.

Nice to meet you!

Cheers,
Mike

What goes in each gap

  • [TOPIC]: the post they reacted to. For a new connection, use “thanks for connecting!”.
  • [CLIENT] + [RESULT]: keep clients unnamed, the way your case studies do. Pick the one closest to this person, e.g. Rolling Forwards on a Ten-Year Asset: each roll looked cheap, nobody had run the numbers across all 40.
  • [THE OFFER]: whatever you're running now, such as an independent review of one hedge programme.
  • [ACTIVITY] and the times: what's actually on, and two real slots tomorrow in their time zone (AU or SG).
Before it goes live

Three quick checks

  • Decide how the paper is sent. The page sends people through a document-request form, but the PDF link itself is open. When someone DMs “HEDGE”, send the page link (so you capture the email) rather than the raw PDF.
  • Put a keyword on your Featured. Your Featured already has the paper as “Your Hedge Was Right. You Still Lost the Gain.” Swap its image for the tile so people see the DM word there too.
  • 30 or 30+ years. Your About says “more than 30 years” and your site says “30 years”. Either is fine; use one everywhere.
